Special ps3 gaming controller

It focuses on accenting the original controller more than steamrolling it with an overpowering color scheme. That's always a plus. One of the most coveted Gamecube controllers and an apple in the eye of Super Smash.

Melee players everywhere, the Char Aznable Gamecube controller wins in simplicity. All it truly boasts is a fresh coat of paint and the emblem in the center. This one came with a similarly themed console, as well as a separate Wavebird model for those who preferred wireless controllers.

Its design doesn't give anything more than it needs to. This was more than enough to make it a trophy for collectors around the world. By far the nicest Wiimote out there. Released as part of a bundle with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword , this controller was part of Nintendo's 25th-anniversary celebration package for the series that included the game, a CD of the anniversary concert, and this gorgeous controller.

It's a great shade of non-tacky gold that's accentuated with the white Hylian crest over the speaker. It's also a Wii Motion Plus controller, which means it can be your go-to controller for all Wii games. Using the black model as the baseline, this controller is focused on uplifting highlighting the original color. Its glossy red stands out well against the dark background. The wispy patterns keep it from being overbearing. The best part is the gold around the D-pad and face buttons.

This sort of accent work is underused and seeing more controllers frame surfaces like this would be rad. A more daring designer would have gone a step farther and recolored the face buttons, which currently don't fit the rest of this controller's aesthetic at all. In the late s, Guitar Hero and Rock Band games were everywhere. Their peak is best exemplified by the release of The Beatles: Rock Band.

The series reached such a lofty height that it got a Beatles tie-in. That's the peak, right there. Technically this wasn't limited edition but the instruments are so hard to find today that they might as well be.

Out of all the plastic instruments, this recreation of Paul McCartney's iconic Hofner bass is the best. Playing those melodic bass lines that Paul is famous for across Beatles tunes doesn't feel right without this in your hand. Beauty and grace. This is one of the best looking white controllers of all time.

The matte finish contrasts well with the glossy black. Overall, it looks incredibly clean. It also manages to use gold on its D-pad and triggers without looking gaudy. The colored dots at the face buttons that represent their traditional coloring is a nice touch too. Wipe this one down after a few gaming sessions to keep the dirt off and this controller will keep looking incredible for years to come.

Take care of your controllers, people. The Dualshock 3 has something the best PC controllers don't have: Pressure-sensitive analog face buttons. Metal Gear Solid 3, for example, just doesn't play right without those analog buttons.

And if you simply prefer the feel of Sony's older controllers over the redesigned Dualshock 4, this is the perfect controller for playing those classic Final Fantasy games on Steam. Note: Steam actually has native support for the DualShock 3, meaning you can simply plug the controller in and set it up through the Big Picture mode Controller settings menu. However, Steam does not support the DualShock 3's gyro controls or more importantly!

Follow this guide to get the PS3 controller working on PC with those buttons working, too. Download the software linked above, and start by installing the four Microsoft packages. If you're on a Windows 7 PC, you'll also need to install the Xbox controller driver.

On Windows 8 and 10, it's already built in! Now we can start making it work. Bluetooth installation note: if you also want to be able to use the controller wirelessly, make sure you have a Bluetooth dongle plugged in or your motherboard's Bluetooth enabled. ScpToolkit notes you need a Bluetooth 2. Download ScpToolkit and run the installer. After accepting the terms and choosing your install location, you'll get a menu of all the options to install, as in the screenshot above. I recommend leaving this to the default.

Click Install to begin the installation. After about 30 seconds, ScpToolkit will be installed, and you'll see this screen, with a big green button that says Run Driver Installer. Since this is a fresh install, that's what we want to do. Click the button. This screen may look intimidating, but it's still pretty simple! Check the boxes for the drivers you want to install. In this case, we want to make sure Install Dualshock 3 driver is checked it should be by default.

Now click the arrow next to "Choose Dualshock 3 controllers to install" to see a dropdown list of USB devices attached to your computer.

Find the PlayStation 3 controller in the list and check it. Bluetooth installation note: Make sure the "Install Bluetooth driver" box is checked. Like you did with the Dualshock 3, click the arrow next to "Choose Bluetooth dongles to install" and find your Bluetooth device in the list.

Check it. Click Install. Watch the SCP Toolkit run through its installation process. You'll see lots of pop-ups on the side of your screen as it detects your hardware.

Scroll to the bottom of the log and you should hopefully see "Dualshock 3 USB Driver installed" and "Bluetooth Driver installed" if you chose to , signifying a successful installation.
