The various support folks you talked to are all technically correct that attempting to install the drivers via a downloaded setup file it will tell you some form of not compatible or card not found error message but what they left out of the explanation was that with certain driver versions you can do the manual install method and it will work, unless of course at some point they notice this and change something in those drivers or remove them from the downloads section to prevent it but that would probably take almost as much work as enabling it to install without the errors Some versions will still say not compatible or wrong OS but some do work.
